About CSEET

The candidates appearing/passed in class 12th examinations shall be eligible for appearing in the CSEET. All the students seeking admission in the Company Secretary Course including graduates/ post graduates, etc. shall be required to qualify the CSEET from February 3, 2020 onwards.

It is a computer based exam and students ahs to answer 120 Questions for 170 marks . A separate Viva voce will be conducted for 30 marks.

How to enroll for CSEET?

Candidates willing to appear for CSEET must first register themselves in the ICSI portal. For doing so the candidates must have the statutory documents ready before applying. For the registration to be successful the candidates need to register only in the ICSI official portal and should not use any external websites for registration. If external sites are used the registration may not be successful and if the registration is not successful the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the exam.

What is the use of the CSEET exam?

CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) is the qualifying entrance test for registration to the CS Executive programme. Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) conducts CSEET for students seeking admission to the Company Secretaryship Course.

What is the eligibility for CSEET exam?

If you have passed Senior Secondary i.e. 10+2 Examination then you are eligible to appear in the CSEET.

How many exams are there in CSEET?

As per the exam pattern of CSEET, there are four papers in CSEET each having a separate relevance. By going through the CSEET syllabus candidates can know the topics and subtopics covered in each paper from which the questions are asked.

What is the passing marks of CSEET exam?

To qualify the CSEET exam, candidates must score a minimum 40% marks in each paper. The overall aggregate score should be 50% for all papers.

Is the CSEET exam objective or subjective?

There are four papers in the CS Executive Entrance Test. Each paper contains objective type multiple choice questions having one or more marks each with four options with one correct answer

What if I fail in CSEET?

You can attempt the CSEET exam only once with the registration. And if you fail or won’t give that exam due to any reason than for giving it later you’ll have to do registration for it again to appear for that examination.

CS Executive programme is the second level of ICSI course. First level is CSEET and last or final level is CS Professional Programme. ICSI conducts CS Executive examination twice a year in June and December. But admission to the CS Executive course is open throughout the year.

Candidates must know that there will be negative marking for CSEET.

Is calculator allowed in CSEET?

The candidates for CSEET will be seated in such a way that their face and waist position is visible to the proctor at all times during CSEET. During the examination, use of any other gadget including mobile, earphone, headphone or pager, digital diary, calculator, smart watch etc. is not allowed.

How many hours is the CSEET exam?

CSEET is held for two hours duration. The number of questions in CSEET exam will be 140 with four papers in one sitting.

How long is the CSEET course?

Company Secretary Course duration is 8 months for CS Foundation, 9 months for CS executive, and 15 months for CS Professional. The CS Foundation exam has been replaced by the CSEET exam. Students who wish to pursue Company Secretary Course after graduation are exempted from passing the CSEET.

How many attempts are there for Cseet in a year?

Can I skip CS Foundation?

If you have met the eligibility criteria, then you can directly register for the Executive Programme stage of the CS Course. If you have a Graduation or Post-graduation degree in any discipline (excluding fine arts) are exempted from appearing for the CS Exam.
