In India, a Chartered Accountant (CA) is a professional designation given to accounting experts. Becoming a CA requires clearing three levels of examinations conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

To become eligible to take the CA exams, one must have completed at least two years of practical training in an accounting firm or as an employee in the finance department of a company.
